Jacks Bios

Yes biographies vs. biography, why? Well, I am often booked for events, speaking engagements or interviews. These generally fall into one of three categories…

  • Preparedness, Self-Reliance and Modern Survivalism
  • Business, Internet Marketing and Entrepreneurship
  • Permaculture, Agriculture and The Local Food Movement

So I have put together a bio for each of these niches.

Bio for the Preparedness Industry

Jack Spirko is best known for his work as the host of β€œThe Survival Podcast,” a daily online audio program that focuses on modern survival concepts and philosophy. Jack’s podcast teaches skills such as gardening and permaculture, food storage techniques, alternative investing strategies, keeping small livestock, home energy production, food preservation, and creating individual liberty.

Jack and his work have been featured in The Dallas Morning News, The Chicago Tribune, Freedom Watch on Fox News and the Mike in the Morning Show. Jack is a contributing editor for Survival.com Magazine and a former staff columnist for LewRockwell.com.

Jack’s podcast was originally done in his car during his former daily 50 mile commute prior to his move out of corporate America. Today the show is listened to by more than 40,000 people a day. While the majority of his listeners are American the show is promoting individual liberty around the world in nations such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Australia, The United Kingdom and many other nations.

Jack has been called “the face of the modern survival movement” by Judge Andrew Napolitano and “the man we should call Spirkodamus for his accuracy in predicting future events” by legendary survival trainer Ron Hood.

Bio for the Business Sector

Jack Spirko is a well known podcaster, blogger and entrepreneur who does two daily podcasts with a combined audience of over 45,000 listeners. In his early career Jack was in professional sales for companies such as Garrettcom and Fluke Networks. At Fluke he was the top sales manager globally for the 500 plus million dollar a year firm. While sales was a natural for Mr. Spirko he saw one obivous flaw in it. In his own words,

β€œOnce you sold something no matter how much you made doing it you had to turn around and do it again to have ongoing success and growth. I realized very early in life that systems were more important then raw talentβ€œ.

So in 1999 Jack began experimenting with using Internet marketing to develop leads for his sales teams and soon found success, as the Internet grew so did the success of his programs. Eventually in 2005 he made the transition out of sales and moved on to 100% focus on the power of Internet based marketing techniques. In 2007 he co-founded Franklin Spirko Media along with his partner and friend Neil Franklin. The firm quickly found success attracting local business, independent entrepreneurs and even Donald Trump as clients.

From 2008 -2010 Jack built his first podcast into a full time income by recording the show from his car during his 50 mile daily commute. In 2010 he made the decision to leave conventional business world behind and went full time as a podcaster and blogger. This provided him with the freedom to live his life on his own terms. Today he lives on his homestead in the Ouachita (pronounced wash-a-tah) Mountains of Arkansas as he continues to build websites, communities and businesses.

If you ask Jack what the key to success is he will answer with a single word, passion. While he found a lot of success as a salesmen and entrepreneur over the years it was embracing his passions for liberty, self sufficiency and teaching that gave him the ultimate in success. To Jack true success is reaching a state that he calls “sustainable happiness”. Jack defines sustainable happiness as…

Being able to do what you love, on your terms, your way, every single day of your life while never having to compromise your personal integrity for even one second.

Bio for Permaculture and Agriculture

In 2008 Jack Spirko founded The Survival Podcast where he coined the term modern survivalism, a philosophy based on 12 tenets that lead to self-sufficiency, self-reliance, independence and personal liberty. From the very beginning he taught that producing your own food and supporting local agriculture were critical to insuring your personal independence. During the countless hours of research that went into the production of his daily podcast he discovered the threat represented by industrial agriculture and GMOs.

Mr. Spirko has now been a student, practitioner and teacher of Permaculture Design and sustainable agriculture for 4 years. In 2011 he founded a new organization AgriTrue, dedicated to restoring “truth in agriculture” and restoring the relationship between those who grow food and those who produce it. AgriTrue is in someways and alternative to the organic lable, a free market solution that ensures care of the earth along with care of people with out government interference.

Today Mr. Spirko is actively engaged in spreading the message of permaculture to his audience of more than 30,000 daily listeners. He has had the good fortune to interview well known permaculturists and sustainable food advocates such as as Paul Wheaton, Bill Wilson, Robb Wolf and Joel Saliten on his show.

He currently lives in Arkansas on a rugged 5 acre piece of land in the Ouachita (pronounced wash-a-tah) Mountains where he is practicing techniques such as swales, hugelkultur, raising small livestock and other permaculture design components.
